It is my pleasure to express my strongest support forthe R01 research collaboration between Stanford University... and the Amplify Foundation to evaluate the positive effects that virtual bedside concerts can have on patients dealing with pain and anxiety in trauma care settings.
The inclusive complementary approach to addressing factors that affect important health outcomes among diverse post-surgical trauma patients, such as pain, anxiety, and alienation from social support, as proposed by Stanford Medicine and the Amplify Foundation is a promising, nurse-led intervention aligned with the research lenses of the National Institute of Nursing Research Scientific Strategy. In particular, this potentially highly impactful intervention focuses on health equity, prevention and health promotion, and systems of care by centering a tailored approach to the intervention… The Office of Research at Stanford Health Care wholeheartedly supports this grant proposal and will work with you and your team to bring this study to our patients.
My previous interactions in providing early research direction to Co-Investigator Andrew Janss leads me to believe that this collaboration between the esteemed research team at Stanford University... and the Amplify Foundation will effectively and carefully elucidate important questions about new modalities of music delivery, equitable distribution of care, and the feasibility of providingnurses with a new patient care tool.
